Stationary Tooling Fixtures
Basic assembly techniques for simple applications can begin with tooling fixtures used to nest components during an assembly or modification process. These systems are typically free of PLCs or complex control systems. Tooling fixtures may ensure parts compliance, orientation or location through the incorporation of mechanical Poke Yoke techniques.
Capabilities include:
• Press fit assembly
• Fastener insertion
• Trimming and degating
• Bending/Forming
Single Station Assembly
Single station cells are an economical way to assemble products. Sometimes equipped with a PLC and/or a human machine interface (HMI), the station can handle many functions. Systems can range from the very simple to moderate complexity. Some tooling fixtures may ensure parts compliance, orientation or location through the incorporation of mechanical Poke Yoke techniques. Capabilities include:
• Bending/Forming
• Fastener and clip insertion
• Interference fit assembly
• Leak testing
• Sealing/glue bonding
• Grease insertion
• Heat staking
• Part marking
Multi-Station Work Cells
To achieve greater throughput, a combination of single work stations may be used to make up a multi-station work cell for the completion of assembly processes. Puritan can design and build multi-station work cells to conform with lean techniques. Some tooling fixtures may ensure parts compliance, orientation or location through the incorporation of mechanical Poke Yoke techniques. Capabilities include:
• Trimming and degating
• Bending/Forming
• Ultra sonic welding
• Tube forming
• Fastener and clip insertion
• Interference fit assembly
• Leak testing
• Sealing/glue bonding
• Grease insertion
• Heat staking
• Part marking
