Puritan Ships Assembly Equipment to Europe Puritan Automation is approved to apply the CE certification stamp and symbol on our products. This helps us comply with safety and risk standards on international projects. And we’re gaining ground on other quality requirements for specialized markets. One of our customized assembly machines just shipped to Europe and was certified to European Union Standards. The European Union places distinct requirements on all products entering the countries that are part of that economic alliance. The safety reviews that we conducted as part of our risk assessment were just one of the steps that needed to be completed prior to this shipment. We also complied with a list of other requirements, including risk solutions, operator instructions, maintenance schedules and a list of spares, programming information and a complete folder of drawings. Utilizing our virtual portal site (called FTP), we were able to supply all the documentation necessary and retain it for our customer’s review and usage. The maintenance information and drawings are extremely pertinent and will be stored for access for one year, just in case there is a loss by the customer on the site. All documentation was backed up on disk with a copy sent to Europe, and a second copy will be retained at Puritan in Wixom. Putting the CE mark on the machine meant we had met all the criteria, and the product would be accepted by customs at its destination. We’re proud of this accomplishment. |

Puritan Test and Automation Provides Document Support As mentioned above, Puritan offers document support. We understand the difficulty of putting a complete document package together to satisfy your ISO, TS or customer requirements. As your product is developed, we put together a complete dossier, including drawings, timelines, progress photos, correspondence, maintenance requirements, risk assessments, and operator instructions. This is available — 24/7 — for your review as the project matures via our secure password protected FTP site. Not only does this allow our clients to keep track of progress, but it also provides an up-to-the-minute documentation for customers’ needs, both internal or external. By providing a complete package, your internal documentation is easier to develop. We maintain this documentation for our clients and provide backup in the case of loss of information. It’s also a good baseline to document internal changes after the product is received. We believe it’s these extra steps that separate Puritan from the competition. |
