Electronic/Hydraulic Component Test Systems

Many manufactured components and sub-assemblies involve the processing of liquids and gases. Some recent applications involve the testing of fuel and washer fluid pumps, engine coolant, heater, and HVAC components.

Test Systems for Fluid-based Products

Many automotive components manipulate fluids such as engine coolants and fuels. Test systems can be designed to replicate the characteristics of the fluids within the vehicle. Fluids can be pumped, heated, cooled, and measured for flow, temperature, pressure and other parameters. Measurements are then analyzed, stored and displayed as necessary, using custom software systems and algorithms.

For the automotive market, Puritan can condition and cycle the test liquid (heat and cool) and interface with the component’s control strategy, including CAN communications to the vehicles’ ECM.

Electronic Products and Modules

Puritan’s custom electronics facility – Puritan West located near Kalamazoo (MI) – provides the capability to design and build electronic test systems. Test systems include electronic module validation, such as vehicle ECMs, CAN communication validation, and instrument cluster operation and display [dashboard instruments]. Puritan West can also design, develop and produce low-volume electronic prototypes with thru-hole and surface-mount technologies.
